This nineteen-year old tweeted a comment about a garbage truck that had crashed, killing six. The tweet basically called those who died ‘trash’, stating they were the most trash taken out by the truck in one day. The tweet went viral, and Loraine was arrested for posting malicious communication.


10. Emily Bunting and Leigh Van Bryan

These two British tourists got detained in L.A. after posting tweets which claimed they planned to dig up the body of Marilyn Monroe and picking people off on Hollywood Boulevard. They also said they were going to ‘destroy America’. The two had their luggage searched, and they tried to explain themselves, to no avail. They were detained and not allowed to enter the United States, even though ‘destroy’ is British slang for ‘party’.
