There’s no reason to believe that starting a painting collection would be one of the most affordable hobbies to enjoy. Many collectors are often buying works of art as a form of investment to sell at a later time. Some have special marks by the artist that make them unique and others are formed by artists who are among the best of all time.
There are so many different types of paintings, but the following 10 are the ones that have the highest price tag of them all.
Pierre-Auguste Renoir’s “Dance at the Moulin de la Galette”
Done back in the late 1870s, this painting was a part of the private collection of Gustave Caillebotte and was later sold in an auction by Sotheby in New York for $78.1 million.
Vincent van Gogh’s “Portrait of Dr. Gachet”
It was a painting done using different oils in 1890 that was done in two different versions; both of which were authenticated to be real. The difference was the color scheme. The first of the two was recently sold for $82.5 million.
