As television shows become more and more sophisticated their production values go up. Many of the shows that are aired today even have similar budgets to big budget movies.
Below are the 10 most expensive television series ever created. They are ranked by their cost to produce each individual episode.

1. Sea Patrol – Costing Over $1 Million

This was a drama series made for the Australian market. It was on TV from 2007 to 2011, and told the story of crew members aboard an Australian Royal Navy ship.
During the course of the series crew members were forced to investigate and deal with a series of various crimes and conflicts that they encountered while on patrol.
Because of the show’s scope, each episode cost about one $1 million to produce.

2. Father Of The Pride – Costing More Than $1.6 Million

This show was canceled after only 14 episodes due to its high production costs. Once it was taken off the air Father Of The Pride became known as one of the biggest failures in television history.
The show was completely animated and was about a group of white lions who were part of the Las Vegas Siegfried and Roy show.
This show was so expensive because of it’s reliance on big name voice talent such as John Goodman and Cheryl Hines.
