We live in a time when most everyone is as free as ever, and true discrimination is at a low. This didn’t happen overnight, and the proof is found in the fact that anti-discrimination advertising abounds, both current and from years gone by. Here we will cover ten of the best anti-discrimination advertising campaigns ever released in an effort to change the minds and hearts of people everywhere.
A print ad designed and completed by Kolle Rebbe Werbeagentur, a German ad agency, depicts a swastika of grass which is growing between the cracks of a sidewalk. The caption boldly states, “Cut it off at the roots”, and the ad was released to the public in 2002.
Representative of the two faces of intolerance, ‘West/East’ was developed by Brazilian ad agency Master, and was recipient of the IFRC Dove award, which is given in recognition of outstanding contribution to a worldwide ad agency initiative to battle discrimination. The piece was created by Luiz Trevisani, Marcos Rene, and Patricia Papp.
