10) Mr. Sekiguchi – $8 million (2004)
The highest value was reached in 2004 when the horse was a thoroughbred from two other racehorses in Storm Cat and Welcome Surprise. It was sold for $8 million to a Japanese businessman who was actually also the chairman for Venture Safe Net, Inc., in Japan.
9) Imperial Falcon – $8.25 million (1984)
Born from the bloodline of Northern Dancer and Ballade, Imperial Falcon was bought by Britain’s Robert Sangster for approximately $8.25 million. He was often named one of the biggest names in the world of horse bloodstock.
