1) Old racetrack
After losing a propeller mid-flight in 2014, a pilot managed to get the plane safely on the ground in one piece by laying her down gently on an old abandoned racetrack in Parker County, Texas. The 79-year old pilot claims he lost the prop at around 2000 feet in the air, but rather than panic he kept his wits. He spotted the area and laid her to rest right on the grass, coming out with nothing but bloody knuckles and a damaged aircraft.
