Securing any loose items is an instruction that has never been more necessary than when jumping from an airplane. However, one parachuter lost his shoe mid-air and miraculously managed to get it back and on again before touching the ground.
The chances of getting anything lost while skydiving back is wildly slim, but luckily for Shelby Palmer (and for anyone below), his shoe found his way back to him. The skydiving instructor was performing a tandem skydiving stunt when his shoe flew off of his foot.
Palmer was attempting a Mr. Bill Skydive, which is where two skydivers hold on to each other on exit of the airplane. Only one of the skydivers deploys a parachute and the other holds on with no open parachute. However, the stunt faced some distraction as Palmer’s shoe was whirling around mid-air.
Somehow, the shoe ends up hurtling towards Palmer and he manages to catch it, holding it up in a celebratory manner. He gets his shoe back on his foot before landing and then points the helmet camera at his face, saying, ‘Lost a shoe, landed with shoe.’
