Some are enclosed cabins that have a view or a floor that rotates. Others are open chairs and mostly used at ski resorts. 10. Val Thorens Aerial Lifts

This is the absolute highest ski resort located in Europe, in the Tarentaise Valley, Savoie. The aerial lifts that are available here offer a great view of the French Alps. Val Thorens has 32 lifts, and they include draglifts, chairlifts, gondolas, magic carpets and cable car. There are also 4 funitels. The funitels are pretty popular, but the brave-hearts tend to favor riding the open chairlifts.

9. Klein Matterhorn Aerial Tramway

This is an aerial tramway in Switzerland at the end of the multi-staged ride from Zermatt.
The cable car supplies a beautiful view of the Theodul Glacier, and you can also possibly get an amazing view of the Glacier Grotto or Ice Cave from just outside of the tram station. Klein Matterhorn has the highest and largest summer ski area in all of Europe and the lift gives access to it.
