Marketing a product or service properly is one of the most important parts of succeeding. Most of the time business with use a media platform, newspaper, or billboard, but there are those who go a bit crazy when it comes to getting the word out about what they have to offer. As you will see here, there are some very creative, if not strange, places to advertise. Here are…
1. Pixel Ads
England college student Alex Tew launched a site in 2005 called ‘The Million Dollar Homepage’. The page featured a grid of 1000 x 1000 pixels, and he sold each and every one off for advertising at $1 apiece. He got lots of publicity, and he ended up making more than a million dollars in just a few short months. Other sites attempted to piggyback off his idea, but none of them really took off.
2. Daily T-shirt Ads
Jason Sadler of the United States is making just under $100k a year by renting out space on his personal t-shirts for advertising. The man, from Florida, used to be in marketing, but he now runs www.iwearyourshirt.com. He not only wears company t-shirts, but he also promotes the company on social media. He charges $1 for each day of the year it is (up to $365), and he sells monthly sponsorships as well. Not too bad.
