10. Lowest Elevation
The Dead Sea in Jordan is 1,385 feet below sea level, making it the lowest elevation point on the planet. But, that’s not all it’s famous for. It also has the highest salinity of any body of water on the earth meaning that it is impossible to drown because you’ll always be lighter than the water! One last piece of trivia about the sea, researchers have not found any life, even bacterial, tough enough to withstand the salinity of this sea.
