5. Coldest Inhabited Area
While there are places colder than Oymyakon Russia, this is the coldest place that people have been able to live. And though it isn’t the coldest place on earth, Oymyakon has registered temperatures of -96.2 degrees Fahrenheit, and the township in the surrounding area is home to over 800 people!
