1. Heineken Talent Show Commercial
In its appeal to men, this Heineken ad features a “Men with Talent” show in which participants perform a variety of challenges involving the beloved ale – popping bottle caps, juggling and chugging beer – much to the chagrin of female onlookers.
2. Miller Lite
Replete with sexist overtones, the intent of this series of beer commercials is to compel men to drink lite beer – considered by some to be unmanly – for the taste. The ads show purse carrying, skirt wearing men and encourages them to “man up” to the superior taste of Miller Lite.
The Brazilian bear maker touts its Brahma beer as being “refreshingly voodoo”, depicting a man combatting the heat imposed by his ex-girfriend’s play with a voodoo doll, as he engages with another woman. He enjoys the beer and manages to get the ultimate retaliation, which is delivered in the punch line of the advertisement.
