Stelarc is an Australian performance artist who likes to push the boundaries of the human body. Here he’s opted to implant an ear which was grown in a laboratory onto his forearm.

In order to make a three-dimensional tribute to the videogame he has loved since childhood, Alex Finch had six Poke Balls implanted in his forearm.
A new trend in subdermal implants is the positioning of a magnet within the fingertip. This apparently allows the recipient to sense electromagnetic fields, although the advantage of being able to do so is unclear.
