1. Declaration of Independence

By far the most culturally exciting item on our list, this story will leave you flabbergasted. A lucky man in Pennsylvania saw a painting in a pawn shop and decided that he like the frame, so he bought the painting for $4. After he got home, he removed the painting to find that hidden behind it was one of 500 official copies of the Declaration of Independence. These copies were printed on July 4, 1776 by John Dunlap to announce America’s independence to colonists. Only 24 copies are known to eixst and of those, only 3 are privately owned. The copy sold for $2,420,000 at a Southeby’s auction.

2. Oldest Baseball Card

While searching through her basement, a 72 year old from California found a baseball card with the first professional baseball team in the U.S. She didn’t realize what it was and almost sold it for #10 on eBay but after a friend suggested that she have the card authenticated, it fetched $75,285 at auction.
