Even after the reign of the dinosaurs, a snake species thrived that can be considered as a wonder. About 60-58 million in the swampy rainforests of Colombia, the Titanoboa flourished. This snake reaches a colossal length of 48 feet long with the weight of 2,500 lbs. The size of the Titanoboa might be due to the climate of its habitat. With the warm climate in Colombia, it allows the growth of lush vegetation. Obviously, prey can grow larger than those living in the areas with cooler climates.

The Titanoboa is quite similar to the modern-day boa constrictor, but acts more like the anacondas in the Amazon. As a predator in swampy areas, it was capable of consuming any animal that it hunted. The diameter of this snake can reach up to a man’s waist. In the river basin where the Titanoboa fed, it can easily take on gigantic turtles and crocodiles that span more than a dozen feet long.
