6. Sir Sean Connery
One would imagine that the former James Bond would have an equally exciting and adventure filled retirement, but the legendary 85-year-old actor actually prefers a very low key, ordinary lifestyle. After a lifelong acting career over which he received many awards and accolades, the actor is content to take to his easy chair with a favorite book, and to do a little gardening.
7. Chris Owens
After his role as the “Sherminator” in the American Pie movies, Chris Owen – like most of the other actors in these movies – was never seen again. He said goodbye to Hollywood and started waiting tables in a Japanese restaurant where he became inspired to become the Sushi chef he is today!
8. Tom Selleck
The prolific Hollywood actor Tom Selleck was known to have once worked upwards of 90 hours a week while filming his hit TV series “Magnum P.I.” Perhaps this is why he chose a peaceful existence out of the limelight as his retirement plan. Today he lives on a 60-acre ranch in Texas, using 20 acres to grow avocadoes!
9. Jon Gosselin
Most of us remember Jon Gosselin from the Jon and Kate Plus 8 reality TV show, which showcased his life with wife Kate and 8 children. The network made mega bucks from the popular show – but it didn’t end well for Jon. His alcoholism and accompanying behavior cost him his marriage, and he was divorced from Kate in a very public and contentious action. His life in Hollywood ended and he ended up waiting tables at a hotel in Pennsylvania.
10. Frankie Muniz
Child star Frankie Muniz gave a terrific breakout performance in “Big Fat Lie” (alongside Amanda Bynes), but is probably best known for his portrayal of Malcolm in the popular TV series “Malcolm in the Middle”. Sadly, a drug addiction ended his acting career. The good news is he recovered and went on to become a NASCAR driver, before he formed the rock band “Kingsfoil”. He is a trained drummer who can be seen performing with his band in LA pubs.
