A certain man named Eugene Lazowski saved 8000 Jews during World War II. He single handedly done this by faking an epidemic. He came from a small town in Poland and later on enlisted in the army in order to help with the war.  He was first a second lieutenant for the Red Cross train and eventually became a medical doctor. This man has saved a number of Jewish people by creating a fake disease called Typhus which he spread in the town. By doing so, the Nazi doctors were led to believe that everyone in the city has Typhus. To that effect, the whole town was quarantined, thus, giving an opportunity for the Jews to escape. Eugene died in the year 2006 making a name for himself as the hero of 8,000 Jews. This simply implies that during tough times there are people ready to be selfless and do well in the expense of others.
