The 1996 Volvo 1800S and its owner, Irv Gordon are holders of the Guinness World Record for the highest mileage that was ever recorded in the world. The owner has been driving the car for more than 45 years. It was on 2011 when the car reached 2.9 million miles.
Obviously, to be able to reach this mileage, one should properly maintain their vehicle. Even though Irv Gordon lives in New York, he travelled many kilometers in Canada, Mexico and even in Europe when he dropped by at the Swedish headquarters of Volvo. He has plans to reach up the 3 million mile mark once he turns 73 years old. This goal would entail him to drive around 5,500 miles every month.
